The Huron Perth Centre offers assessment, counseling, and consultation for a variety of mental health concerns with children, youth and families.

Accessing Services

The Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth is an accredited Children's Mental Health Centre, funded primarily by the Ministry of Children and Youth and MCYS - Youth Justice. In addition to our services for children and youth we also have a variety of specialized services that are funded separately, address specific issues and contribute to the well-being of children, youth and their families.

Our children's mental health services are available to children and youth up to their 18th birthday. All of our services are offered at NO CHARGE and are CONFIDENTIAL. One exception is our Group Delta which expects clients to contribute to the cost of services as an integral part of taking responsibility for personal change.

Huron-Perth Centre for Children & Youth help make healthy families.

We help children, youth and their families solve problems that interfere with their quality of life.

We believe that if intervention on behalf of a child is to be beneficial, it must assist and strengthen the child's natural caregiver, the family.

We are a voluntary agency; in most cases clients self-refer in order to initiate service. Exceptions include Group Delta and some Youth Justice Services.

With client consent, we welcome information exchange from schools, family physicians and other community professionals who are supporting a referral and seeking to coordinate services.

We offer consultation to professionals who wish to facilitate a referral to support a family. When client consent is not available, Centre staff may offer general advice and strategies to assist professionals seeking to facilitate a referral. With client consent, managers may offer more specific consultation by phone or attendance at meetings in order to support a client to make contact with the Centre.
