The Centre offers a range of Youth Justice Services to assist youth at various stages of involvment with the youth justice system. Services are focused on the behaviours, concerns and/or offences that brought youth age 12-17 into conflict with their communities. All Youth Justice Services use a strengths-based, restorative justice philosophy and approach that seeks to repair the harm and restore relationships. Staff work in collaboration with children’s mental health staff, schools and other service providers to see that other needs are addressed.

Youth Justice Prevention in School
Staff provide school-based services in schools for youth 12-17 for a range of concerns that impact on their ability to be successful in school and/or at risk for police involvement. Referrals through on-site service in high schools, the two school board Student Support Coordinator (AMDSB)/Behaviour Resource Consultant (HPCDSB) or by calling Clinton or Stratford offices of the Huron-Perth Centre.

The goal of the program is to coordinate an individualized plan with the youth and their family that makes amends to the victim in a timely way. Includes coordination of the TAPP-C program (Arson Prevention program) and referrals can be made by phone/fax to:

Victims are encouraged to participate, harm is acknowledged and all those involved begin to rebuild their relationships with community integrity. Priority from the Crown Attorney. For information about volunteering, contact: Coordinator at 519-271-9454 x 232 (Perth only)
