In addition to our children's services, we have a variety of
specialized services that are funded separately, and
contribute to the well-being of children and their families.
Several services offer intervention to provide a more
intensive response to children and youth with a variety of
high needs:
Section 23 Treatment Classrooms
One treatment classroom per county is available to provide a
treatment-focused classroom setting for students whose
emotional and/or behaviour needs make it difficult for them
to succeed in a regular classroom. These services are
possible through partnerships with Avon Maitland District
School Board, the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board
and the Huron Perth Children's Aid Society.
Clinical Supports Intervention
(CSI)
This team is more mobile and often works in settings such.as
the child's home, school, community, various out-of-home
settings as needed; it is intended to reach children and
youth struggling at school and in other settings and current
priorities include children 7-12 and transitional youth ages
15-18 struggling multiple issues related to addictions,
youth justice, homelessness and/or children in the care of
the Children's Aid Society.
